Netherblake

Lately I've been reading comic books quite a bit and I wanted to update one of my older superhero characters. This is Rachel Drogonson, AKA Netherblake, a sort of science fantasy character with lasers. Anyway, the idea was this character to live in the DC comics universe with a tentative connection to the Superman mythos. I have not worked on the story on Netherblake or any of the other characters involved for a while, but I figured its as good a time as any to work on my ideas. As for the drawing itself, I like how it came out. Her eyes are a high on the head and the arms ended up a bit lanky. Anyway, here's the story thus far:


Rachel Drogonson is a a medical student who likes apple pie, trendy bars, and silly hats. Residing within the city of Riverbend, Rachel lives life much like any other twenty-something trying to find their place in the world. Unbeknowst to Rachel, there are darker forces at work within Riverbend. A criminal organization calling itself Shadefang works to bring mystical artifacts into the hands of private collectors. 

One day, Rachel is walking back to her apartment when a Shadefang truck crashes onto the sidewalk before her. Thinking that someone has been hurt, the young woman races to the scene only to see charred bodies and an object glowing in hte back of the truck. Now afaid, Rachel tries to bolt down the sidewalk but finds herself being attacked by the glowing object. Now finding herself bound to an object called a Netherblake, Rachel stumbles into the world of superheroics and finds some odd friends along the way.
