Terra Mills was a completely normal girl attending college in Lebanon, Illinois. She also very aware of the adventures of Brigadoon Earth on an air base nearby. Terra also never knew of a creature stirring beneath the grounds of Lebanon. The beast was known by many names across many ages. The last name it had was Neekwan, a Native American name based on its wail. There was also a warrior waiting in sleep by Neekwan. A man from a elder civilization who's technology was far beyond that of the modern world. The warrior's name is Dorndailo, meaning "Sacred Sky" in his native tongue.

Terra was walking a path one day when she heard a terrible sound. She then saw a armor clad warrior aiming his raygun at a huge monster. Terra freaked out and ran away. The scene was later known to be a mental projection of the memories of Dorndailo. He was calling out for help to who ever was out in the surface.

Terra then began have violent dreams of Neekwan and Dorndailo. She eventually got the message and went to the spot she saw the mental projection. She finds a strange rock formation accidentally awakens Neekwan and Dorndialo. Only a portion of Neekwan's power is left, thus it sends out creatures called Darkseeds to infect people and feed off their inner darkness. Dorndailo then gives Terra a device called the Light Driver and is tasked with fighting Darkseeds as Kamen Rider Searchlight!
